Tech tips for productivity

Here's some great ideas to increase your productivity with your tech. It is just my personal tips.

Monitor

  • If you are going to move more while working, like travelling, consider having a laptop and 15” external monitor

  • If you want a setup that’s versatile, consider having a monitor with USB C PD and with USB type A in the back of the monitor. Not all have the USB A ports, but at least one USB C port.

  • Make sure monitor is VESA, because you can move around more, either vertically or horizontally

  • Depending on the size, make sure you pick a monitor that's enough big for you, if you are going to multitask. A 24” is mostly reasonable for those who want a minimalist setup

  • Two monitors are ALWAYS an option, but if you have a laptop with a good screen to work on and have it as a second monitor, USE IT. It will save you money and cable management, if you don’t like to many cables

Laptop

  • Get yourself a good laptop stand that can allow you to comfortably see in angle where head is down

  • Get yourself a good keyboard and mouse kit, like the Logitech MX, which allows you the fully customize your macros, both mouse and keyboard, for your productivity

  • If you want a laptop that do the job for your workflow, I consider taking the OG Lenovo

ThinkPad Series. They are still excellent for students who want to have a work computer.

  • Get a refurbished ThinkPad. I think the best market for getting a refurb one is on eBay. You can get a good laptop for 150-250$ in grade A.

  • Make sure yours is USB C compatible. But always buy one depending on the USB C requirements on of the laptop.
